Network Biologists with a keen interest in Integrative Bioinformatics (post doctoral)
The Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics Group (Heck-group, www.hecklab.com<http://www.hecklab.com>) at Utrecht University (www.uu.nl<http://www.uu.nl>) the Netherlands is looking for a Network Biologists with a keen interest in Integrative Bioinformatics
This person will be able to use and develop tools to analyze, integrate and visualize data obtained primarily by mass spectrometry based proteomics but with the aim to perform integrative analysis using data obtained by siRNA screens, NGS, metabolomics and other post-genome technologies. The projects will primarily be related to stem cell and cancer related research, with a special attention to focus on perturbation in network biology induced by gene mutations and small molecule drugs. We expect the candidate to be experienced in relevant bioinformatics tools such as Cytoscape, PathVisio (or other pathway analysis tools) and [R]. Also a strong background in bio-statistics and programming (e.g. in Java, Perl, Python) is an advantage. Ideally also experience with MS-based proteomics data is available. These capabilities should all be clear from your CV, your PhD research and publication list.
The person hired will be deeply involved in the programs of the Netherlands Roadmap program “Proteins at Work” (www.proteinsatwork.nl<http://www.proteinsatwork.nl>) and the Gravity Program “CGC.NL” (www.cancergenomics.nl<http://www.cancergenomics.nl>), and be imbedded within the core proteomics facility in Utrecht (www.netherlandsproteomicscentre.nl<http://www.netherlandsproteomicscentre.nl>).
We will be able to offer a three years position at a post-doctoral level, being appointed at Utrecht University, Science Faculty.
For information please contact prof. dr. Albert J.R. Heck (cgc.nl.networkbiologist at gmail.com<mailto:cgc.nl.networkbiologist at gmail.com>)
In your application include a CV, two letters of recommendation and a motivation.
