I am happy to announce three open positions at UMCG Groningen, Genomics
Coordination Center (and we always are looking for scientific programmers
so welcome open applications as well):

*Postdoc semantic integration / ontologies*
to lead our ‘FAIR’ research line towards integrated analysis of large
biobanks and multi-center studies in (rare)disease. Big data holds huge
promise to accelerate research in human health and disease, but biomedical
data is very heterogeneous and fragmented impeding integrated analysis. You
will research ontologies and linked data models and methods and develop
smart data integration tools for large scale retrospective data integration
and ‘federated’ analysis, considering the fact that health data is often
privacy sensitive and involve security/anonymity constraints.

*Postdoc with scientific coordinator ambitions*
to promote smooth operation of large European and National data science
projects in the area of cohorts, (rare) disease, and multi-omics. You will
facilitate collaboration between principle investigators, PhD students,
data scientists, engineers and managers, highlight (research)
opportunities, promote collaboration and coordinate project deliverables in
a timely manner, drive internal and external communication including
organisation and preparation of semi-annual and specific project meetings
to ensure a smooth progress of the research. You will be part of a social,
multi-site, multi-disciplinary team of project coordinators, researchers
and team leaders who together coordinate all things happening between GCC
and our partners. Depending on your background and ambitions you can also
take the lead in scientific publications.
