Dear all,

The French Bioinformatics Institute (IFB, https://france-bioinformatique.fr/), national infrastructure in biology/health which federates 35 regional platforms and associated teams, as well as a coordinating unit, IFB-core (UMS CNRS 3601), is in charge of deploying a bioinformatics platform to collect, process and organise data from the EMERGEN genomic surveillance project, and to ensure submission of those data in international repositories. The 2 years starting funds are committed to COVID-19 data, but the project is intended to develop a sustainable infrastructure allowing a swift answer to other emerging infectious diseases.
The IFB is recruiting a study engineer to take care of data brokering for the EMEGEN project. This will ensure the link between data producers and international repositories, in order to disseminate data and control data and metadata quality.
Required diploma: master in bioinformatics or in biology with bioinformatics experience, genomics data processing, NGS, expertise in R or Python (knowledge in Django appreciated).
The recruited person will be assigned to UMS CNRS 3601 IFB-core. It will be hosted by one of the IFB implementation sites associated to the EMERGEN project, Paris or Marseille. Its work will articulate with the other members of the IFB-EMERGEN team, which also includes people in charge of system process management (DevOps), database development (WebDev) and data analysis (workflows).
