The workshop is part of the pre-programme of the 15th European Conference on Computational Biology (<a href="http://www.eccb2016.org/" style="text-decoration:none" target="_blank">ECCB 2016</a>), 3-7 September in the Hague. </font></strong></div><div><strong><br></strong></div></font></div></b></font></div></div></div></div></div><div><div><p style="margin:0px 0px 10px"><font size="2">A broad community of stakeholders recently described a set of guiding principles to ensure that scientific data be <a href="http://www.nature.com/articles/sdata201618" style="text-decoration:none" target="_blank">Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR)</a>. This workshop will provide an introduction to FAIR Data Stewardship in the context of the <a href="http://ec.europa.eu/research/openscience/index.cfm?pg=open-science-cloud" style="text-decoration:none" target="_blank">European research initiatives</a>. The morning session will provide a brief introduction to the key issues and ample time for discussion. The afternoon session will be devoted to a practical introduction to data ‘FAIRification’ using real-life datasets. Depending on workshop attendance, the practical session may include hands-on coding activity guided by the workshop organizers.
