BIOFINFORMATICS PhD/Postdoc on EPIGENOMICS (ULB, Brussels) Job description: PhD and Postdoctoral positions are available for successful candidates to join a dynamic team at the Laboratory of Cancer Epigenetics (Université Libre de Bruxelles). Our group is interested to study transcriptomics and epigenomics in health and diseases. The candidates, which will work within a bioinformatic environment, will tackle integrative analysis of higth-throughput transcriptomics and epigenomics data sets generated using cutting edge next-generation sequencing plateforms (available in host lab). Both fundamental and clinical aspects of human diseases will be addressed. Postdoc position is funded for 2 years, with possible extension. Screening of applications begins immediately and continues until an outstanding candidate is selected. Profile : Applicants should demonstrated proficiency in programming, and statistics and/or machine learning. Experience with sequence data, genome-wide data sets (ChIPSeq, RNASeq,…) will be assets. Dear all, You may be interested in the following talk: Understanding functional disorder in proteins – examples from a stem cell regulatory network Adam Godzik In many proteins, the interplay between order and disorder is critical for their function. In the Joint Center for Structural Genomics we set out to map out and understand this balance in a group of transcription factors and regulatory complexes involved in stem cell differentiation. Many proteins in this network appear to be composed entirely of disordered regions, but upon more detailed analysis we started identifying small ordered "kernels" of order, possibly being switched on (and off) with post-translational modifications.
