The BioSB 2018 conference is the 4th edition of the Dutch Bioinformatics & Systems Biology conference. BioSB 2018 discusses the latest developments in bioinformatics, systems and computational biology and interrelated disciplines, and their wide-ranging applications in life sciences & health, agriculture, food & nutrition. BioSB PhD retreat 2018
The
YoungCB (ISCB Regional Student Group Netherlands) is pleased to invite you to the BioSB PhD retreat 2018 in the afternoon of May 14th. The retreat will be held in Lunteren at the Congrescentrum De Werelt, preceding the BioSB conference.
This year's theme will be Machine Learning & Deep Learning. The afternoon programme has three keynotes a workshop and Flash presentations. In the evening there will be a dinner in the centre of Lunteren followed by a fun social activity at the conference centre bar.
We encourage all (PhD-) students and young researchers in the fields of computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology and related fields to attend this annual retreat to discuss your research and build a network with fellow young peers in the Netherlands.

Call for Nominations Young Investigator Award 2018
During the BioSB 2018 on May 16, we will present the BioSB Young Investigator Award 2018. The winner will receive a prize that is sponsored by the BioSB research school and will present an honorary lecture at the conference. Group leaders can now nominate their candidates.
Criteria: The candidate must have conducted his/her bioinformatics or systems biology research primarily in a Dutch institute. The primary result on which the award will be based will be the PhD thesis written by the candidate.
Submission deadline: April 4!
