Job description
- Development of workflows to
Retrieve, process and curate plant trait information from dedicated databases and literature (via text-mining and natural language processing).
Process and store ontologies and gene-trait information in a relational database
- Development and benchmarking of a command-line Nextflow pipeline to perform gene-trait discovery using single-cell RNA-Seq, network biology and curated plant trait data
- Evaluation of the developed gene-trait discovery pipeline using newly generated single-cell datasets for different crop plants
- Optional: interactions with (inter)national industrial/academic partners working on single-cell genomics and valorization.
Your profile
- You have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational biology or similar.
- Having good programming (Python) and Linux skills is a must; experience with Nextflow pipelines is an asset.
- You like and have experience with software/workflow/tool development.
- Knowledge in plant or single-cell biology is a plus but not essential.
- You are enthusiastic about computational tool development and want to learn more about applying computational biology for single-cell data analysis.
- You have good communication skills and are proficient in English.
