Dear Bioinformatics researchers,

We are looking forward to an exciting meeting! We had an astounding 130 abstract submissions, 16 of which have been selected for oral presentation. We will thus have 4 keynote speakers (Charles Lawrence, Brown University; Martijn Huynen, Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center; Madan Babu, University of Cambridge; Yves Van de Peer, Flemish Institute for Biotechnology (VIB) and University of Gent) and 16 contributed presentations, with a strong focus on systems biology. There will be ample time for networking at the poster sessions. The provisional program is available at www.esat.kuleuven.be/sista/bbc2007/program.php.

We urge you to register quickly as there is a possibility that we hit the maximum capacity of the meeting room (about 250 participants)! The deadline for registration is November 4.

See you at the conference!

Kind regards,

SCOPE

The Benelux Bioinformatics Conference is a two-day international conference on bioinformatics. It is the primary community event for bioinformatics researchers in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg with excellent networking opportunities. The conference is aimed at both academic and industry researchers. This year's edition, BBC 2007, will take place in Leuven, Belgium on November 12-13, 2007. Check out the conference web site at http://www.esat.kuleuven.be/sista/bbc2007/.

SPONSORS

The conference is sponsored by the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders (F.W.O.-Vlaanderen), the Netherlands Bioinformatics Center (NBIC), BioScope-IT (the Flemish Bioinformatics Network), and Keygene N.V., Silicon Graphics, NetApp and The SAS Institute. It is organized within the framework of the Interuniversity Attraction Pole on Bioinformatics and Systems Biology (BioMaGNet) and the K.U.Leuven Center for Computational Systems Biology (SymBioSys).
