Abstract

This talk presents an overview of Bayesian networks and methods for learning them. It discusses on recent methods and theoretical results to speed up computations and to improve accuracy. Applications arising in real-data biomedical problems are described, where it is argued that Bayesian networks can provide meaningful and interpretable results. In particular, we discuss on unsupervised clustering of copy number data, as well as data imputation with application in survival analysis of diffuse large B cell and marginal zone lymphoma patients.
