
Course: Introduction to R (June 10-12, 2015) Three-day course on R, covering the following topics: * History and Introduction to R * Data Structures, Functions, Basic Arithmetic, Data Manipulation * Working with Data and Command Files * Data Inspection and Summary Statistics * Graphs, Plots, and Tabulations * Statistical Methods: Continuous Data * Statistical Methods: Categorical and Time-to-Event Data * Finding, Installing, and Loading Additional Packages * Programming Structures and Flow Control * Generating Random Data and Monte Carlo Simulations * Generic, Method, and User-Written Functions * Advanced and Miscellaneous Topics The course is aimed at researchers, (Master and PhD level) students, data analysts/scientists, and essentially anybody interested in learning how to work with R. We use a mixture of lectures and hands-on exercises that provide ample opportunities for practicing the concepts taught.
