Dear
colleagues,
RSG
Belgium, the regional student group of the International
Society for Computational Biology, is organising the annual
Student Symposium in bioinformatics and computational
biology on 5th May 2020 at
UCLouvain, in Brussels. The main goal of this event is to
provide a forum for young researchers and students in
bioinformatics where they can present their work, get
updated about current research topics in Belgium and network
with their peers. We are happy to have prof. dr. Laurent
Gatto (de Duve Institute) give a keynote lecture on
research reproducibility.
We
are also excited to announce that we will accompany the
symposium in the morning with a workshop by prof.
dr. Jan Aerts (Data Science Institute at UHasselt),
who will walk us through the most important concepts in data
visualisation for biological data and provide
pen&paper design exercises.
The
event is free for all participants (including a lunch
break), but registration for the workshop and the symposium
is required through this form: https://bit.ly/2wssYT5.
The registration deadline is 20th April.
If you would like to present your work either as an oral
presentation or a poster, the abstract submission deadline
(through the same form) is April 5th.
You
can find all relevant information about the event and
updates on our website: http://www.rsg-belgium.iscbsc.org/event/student-symposium/student-symposium-05-05-2020/.
We
are looking forward to seeing you at UCLouvain!
Best
regards,
Sofia
