Dear Colleagues,
We are currently looking for two (international) PhD candidates in metagenomics research projects. Both projects will start in 3-6 months, the application deadline is 20th July `21. I would be grateful if you could forward these positions to interested students:
Bioinformatic position (MRC funded): Maintenance and evolution of the human gut bacterial resistome:
Wetlab/bioinformatic position (ERC funded): Genomic adaptation of gut bacteria in long-term human colonizations:
The Hildebrand group is based at the Quadram Institute and the Earlham Institute in Norwich, UK. The focus of the hosting group is developing novel metagenomic technologies and understanding the population genetics of bacteria. The Norwich Research Park hosts has the largest concentration of microbial research groups in the UK, the Quadram Institute being entirely focused on gut microbial research, while the Earlham Institute is developing bioinformatic and sequencing technologies. The candidates will have access to resources at both institutes including state of the art sequencing & microbiology technologies and one of the largest compute clusters in the UK.
Thank you for your time,
Falk Hildebrand
