Upcoming Training opportunities

1. Using generative AI responsibly and proficiently at work 👆
When: 13th October        Where: Leuven       Duration: Half day
You will learn practical prompting techniques to make these tools support brainstorming, tone and style adjustments, content drafting and summarization. We also touch on ethical considerations such as ownership, copyright, and bias, ensuring you can use AI technologies effectively while maintaining integrity.

2. Application of generative AI for scholarly work👆
When: 27th October        Where: Gent           Duration: One day
This training focuses on generative AI tool used to support scholarly workflows. We will explore different AI tools to support tasks from literature reviews to content drafting, summarization, and visualization. We will also show how you can leverage AI agents to execute actions based on predefined context and instructions. 

When: 1st October         Where: Ghent        Duration: One day
This explores machine learning and neural network methods for image segmentation tasks, including Random Forest–based pixel classification . The course also covers automating repetitive tasks enabling you to create reproducible workflows to analyse microscopy images.

4. Quantitative bioimage analysis in QuPath: Essentials 👆
When: 2nd October         Where: Ghent        Duration: One day
You will learn how to navigate the software and leverage built-in machine learning algorithms (including Random Forest and neural networks) to perform cell segmentation, classify pixels and objects, and extract quantitative features. We will also introduce basic scripting for batch processing, enabling scalable workflows. 

5. Scientific visualization and communication with PyMOL3 👆
When: 5th October         Where: Brussels        Duration: One day
This hands-on course introduces how to load and navigate structures, inspect protein features, apply visualization techniques, and perform basic analyses. A strong focus is on creating clear figures and animations for publications and presentations.

6. Exploring protein structures: From analysis to prediction👆
When: 25th November         Where: Gent        Duration: Two days
You will learn how to explore, compare, and visualize protein structures and gain insights into modern prediction methods. The training also covers approaches for designing protein variants and studying protein-protein interactions, combining theory with extensive hands-on practice.

7. Agentic coding with GitHub Copilot👆
When: 3rd December         Where: Gent        Duration: One day
Are you ready to go beyond simple chat-based coding and unlock the power of structured, agentic workflows? In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn how to move beyond chat-based coding and design structured, agentic coding workflows.
