Announcing a WikiPathways curation jamboree Feb 11-12

WikiPathways (www.wikipathways.org) is an open, collaborative platform for the curation of biological pathways, created to facilitate the contribution and maintenance of pathway information by the biology community. WikiPathways currently contains hundreds of pathways for 18 species. Have you heard about WikiPathways and wanted to contribute, but didn't know where to start? Here's your chance! On February 11th-12th, we are organizing another curation event to improve the quality of our pathways. The main focus of this event is to make the pathways more informative by adding descriptions and literature references. Curation events are open to all registered WikiPathways users, no prior experience necessary! How to participate ------------------ 1. Check out the Guidelines page to get a sense of the curation tasks involved: http://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Curation_Jamboree_2010 2. Register at WikiPathways and start curating! Be sure to add your name to the list of participating curators here: http://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Curation_Events Support ------- WikiPathways admins and curators will be available in an online chat channel to answer questions immediately. (See http://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Curation_Jamboree_2010 for details) You can also post questions to our mailing list: wikipathways-discuss@googlegroups.com If you have comments about a specific pathway and would like to start a discussion about it, you can do that on the Discussion page of the pathway in question. You can access the Discussion page via the Discussion tab at the top of the pathway page. Can't make it this time? ------------------------ If you can't participate this time around, stay tuned on the wikipathways-announce mailing list for future events, or check the Curation Events page at WikiPathways (http://www.wikipathways.org/index.php/Curation_Events) or the Community Interest section of WikiPathways main page.
