COURSE: Introduction to R (19-21 September, 2016) at Maastricht University Three-day course on R, the free and open-source software environment for statistical computing and graphics, covering the following topics: * history and introduction to R * data structures, functions, basic arithmetic, data manipulation * working with data and command files * data inspection and summary statistics * graphs, plots, and tabulations * statistical methods: continuous data * statistical methods: categorical and time-to-event data * finding, installing, and loading additional packages * programming structures and flow control * generating random data and Monte Carlo simulations * generic, method, and user-written functions * advanced and miscellaneous topics The course is aimed at researchers, (Master and PhD level) students, data analysts/scientists, and essentially anybody interested in learning how to work with R. A mixture of lectures and hands-on exercises is used that provide ample opportunities for practicing the concepts taught.
