- Benelux Bioinformatics Conference 2015 - Student fellowships - The University of Antwerp is proud to welcome you the Benelux Bioinformatics Conference 2015 (BBC 2015). The BBC 2015 will take place at Elzenveld in the heart of Antwerp, on 7-8 December 2015. To stimulate the participation of young scientists, we are pleased to announce the availability of 10 student fellowships. What is a student fellowship? A fellowship covers the registration fee for full participation to the Benelux Bioinformatics Conference, including lectures, poster sessions, lunch and coffee breaks. Note that a fellowship does NOT cover the conference dinner on Monday evening, but fellowship recipients are allowed to join the dinner at the normal rate (€ 50). Fellowships also do not cover accommodation, travel, or other costs. Who can get a fellowship? The fellowships will be preferentially awarded to students with: • a particular interest in bioinformatics; • active involvement in bioinformatics work (internship, bachelor or master thesis, …); • NO formal scientific employment (in the form of a salary or grant). Active participation with a scientific poster is strongly encouraged. Send an e-mail with a short CV (studies, grades, internships, employment), contact details, and a motivation that convincingly shows that you deserve to be awarded this fellowship to info@bbc2015.be<mailto:info@bbc2015.be> with the following subject line: “BBC2015 student fellowship application: first name family name”. Deadline for applications is November 10. The organising committee is responsible for the selection. Candidates will be informed about their application by the end of November. No further discussion will be held with regards to the result. Note that we will follow a strict attendance policy. Fellowship recipients who are unable to attend, are expected to inform us 7 days in advance. Without notification, fellowship recipients who do not show up at the conference notice will be charged the registration fee.
