Dear all, If you’re working with spatial data (or planning to), a quick heads-up on a few upcoming VIB activities that might be interesting to attend: Targeted spatial transcriptomics analysis (11–12 March, Ghent)<https://training.vib.be/all-trainings/targeted-spatial-transcriptomics-analysis> Two hands-on days focused on actually working with targeted spatial transcriptomics data (e.g. Xenium). You’ll go from raw data into the SPArrOW/Harpy pipeline (from the Saeys lab), covering segmentation, clustering and spatial visualisation — very much aimed at understanding what’s going on under the hood, not just clicking buttons. Spatial proteomics analysis (13 March, Ghent)<https://training.vib.be/all-trainings/spatial-proteomics-analysis> A one-day follow-up that shifts the focus from RNA to proteins. Same Harpy framework, but now applied to multiplex imaging data: segmentation, marker quantification and cell type annotation, with plenty of discussion on how to judge data quality and biological relevance. VIB Conference: Spatial Omics – 2nd edition (22–24 June, Bruges)<https://www.vibconferences.be/events/spatial-omics-2nd-edition> Three days fully dedicated to spatial omics, with a nice balance between unimodal approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) and genuinely multimodal integration. Strong mix of methods, computation and biology, plus a good chance to catch up with people across VIB and beyond. Abstract deadline is 20 April.
