Re: [Beg-bogas] BOGAS gene curation

Hi Klaus, I'm still working on it. the problem is that the IDs you see now are in-house IDs (that are not linked to the ones from JGI). I've now updated the DBs, but there is no easy way to replace all the IDs in BOGAS. I'll keep you posted, sorry for the inconvenience, grtz, L. klaus valentin wrote:
Hi Lieven,
is it meanwhile possible to link the Esil hits to diatom genes to the JGI homepage/protein ID/protein page? Reason is that I frequently have to decide whether an aminoterminus in Esil might be correct and contains a plastid targeting signal. In these cases it would be of great help to check the corresponding aminotermini in Thaps of Phatr. At the moment I can only do this manually via the gene ID, for which I have to keep open Windows for both diatoms. Despite I work with two large monitors this is confusing and slows down my computer...
Best regards
Klaus

Hi Klaus,
The blast alignment error is fixed. Concerning the thaps/phatr IDs, I'll see what I can do. When we started off these datasets were not public yet so that's why they are not linkable. (also: JGI tends to change IDs from time to time, if I link to NCBI they stay forever fixed.but maybe we can work around it)
best, L.

.. by the way:
- quite often I can not see the blast alignment, only an error message. - ther are links in the blast tables to genebank entries but none to the thaps/phatr homepages. could you include them?

Hi Klaus,
the locus: Esi0000_0441 which was previously owned by you has been deleted in the last update. Would you be so kind to check this locus and then confirm the deletion to me or let me know to reinstate it.
thanks in advance and don't bother mailing me if you have more questions. grtz, L.
