Apparently,
the USA military invested in a realistic shooter with live videofeeds,
balastic calculations, and a rubber reusable screen. So yes, this means
you actually shoot something at your screen!

It's probably not gonna be found in any store soon :/

Hi Binari!
A coffeebreak-subgroup of us has just thought about how to improve the
procedure of becoming-a-new-member-in-BEG. (It came into my head because
we have so many new people at the moment and I was wondering if they get
such a good introduction like I had and if there is a person who is
responsible for it.)
As it apparently lays all in the hand of the supervisor of the new
person and of other people being friendly to the new one (which depends
on so many things...). I/we thought we could make some kind of
paper/guide for new people where there is everything in to know.
Kenny and I just did some brainstorming (see below) and we ask you to
add more things and to contribute (maybe someone wants to explain
several points in more detail?). Kenny will put it on to the Wiki.
Oh, and should I send this to the whole BEG, should we ask Yves who is
not there?
Greetings,
Esther.

Hi,
the idea was given to start a new tradition on friday.
So, how are we going to do this?
There's a frituur on the Grote Baan. It would be stupid to go all at once
to the place, no? But it would also be stupid to pick Michiel every week
to go and pick up our complicated order of fries, satees, bickies, sauzes,
mexicano, frikandels, sandwiches, boules, vuurvreters, satees groot, etc
..
So, I suggest a couple of people go and pick up our order at the frituur,
and the others do it the week after that.
I vote for that whoever replies last (except me ofcourse) has to go and
pick up the fries. My arrival dates count (so it's no use fiddling with
the clock ;))

Look what I found:
Blinkenlights all started in 2001. The year marked the 20th anniversary of
the Chaos Computer Club which was started in 1981. Wau Holland, founder of
the CCC had just surprised everyone by dieing and the motivation to do
something really special to mark the 20 year anniversary was high. A
five-day retrospective exhibition about the history of the CCC was set to
take place in the Congress building in Berlin and a nearby landmark, the
teacher's building, was being remodeled and empty. Tim had the keys to
the building and his initial idea was to create a giant CCC design in
lights on the side of the building but when Tim quietly mentioned this
idea to a few select friends, their instant reaction was that they _had to
play Tetris on the side of a building_. Within hours a crackerjack team of
8 people were huddled around a table planning the first building-sized
display screen. Was it possible? Would it work?
