I guess it might be different once you're used to it, but as a woman I find this rather quite discriminating, and I'm pretty sure I'd never even want to use such parking lots :s And if you're afraid of getting robbed, why use the one parking lot where the robber is certain there's a weak lil woman parking there? ;-) Anyways, no fair there's no cake for the sick one! -Sofie, going to bed again soon (which is less fun than it sounds actually, waking up every hour thinking you're choking)
I don't know, if they check it at all. They could check it using the camera. But which man would use a women parking lot anyway? It would be even worse than asking for direction. And they are meant for women or women with small children.
But it is really interesting that you get so annoyed about the whole topic.
And the working woman on the other island already bought food this morning and is preparing sandwiches for having lunch right now. I am sorry but I carried it in a bag and not on my head. But I will try next time.

And concerning the difficulties with parking spaces... just widen all spaces and put a limit and the maximum width of cars (those 4x4's and SUV's have no reason to be in a city anyway). That should help already.
In some countries they solve these kind of problems by making women carry their groceries on their heads and their kids on their backs. I'm kind of in favor for that one. Very environment friendly as well.
Anyway, who are we annoying with these sudden flow of deep conversations in their mailbox?

the problem would be solved if they wouldn't call it 'woman's
It mainly disturbes me that they call it woman's place, eventhough > anyone with parking or parking place problems could use them. And some practical problems.. And how are you going to check if
