-12 Mbps is indeed the maximum speed you can get with ADSL, unless you live really close to central (<1km). To compare: only with cable (Telenet) you can get up to 15 Mbps. I've read promises about a technical upper limit of 24Mbps, but living within a range of 1km to the central at Sint Pieters station, I think that's exaggerated.
I'm taking this back. Out of curiosity I just called EDPnet to measure out my connection. Apparently the connection has been that stable since the beginning of May that they're now upgrading my line to 20 Mbps. There's a chance this won't work, and then they're falling back to 15 Mbps, which still sounds nice.
