as I'm already doing VPN across the ocean to Broad, it's impossible for me to do VPN to Ghent as well, and I refuse to use webmail

Webmail is too much of a hassle and the VPN is too slow over the 
ocean. As such, I will no longer be checking this e-mail address on a 
regular basis, maybe just once every few days.
