did you install the tex-environment itself (latex, pdftext, etc... executables) ? Or perhaps you need to change the location of the tex-directory in some configuration file of that tex-editor.
Or maybe you have to tell your editor which command to execute when hitting the button? Preferably 'pdflatex'... maybe with some parameters. Start by just typing 'pdflatex' on your commandline to see if it's installed and in your path.

Hi binaries,
My tex editor is not working (Texmaker TeX editor). Whatever I try for compiling, it says 'could not start command'. I installed it just with sudo yum install. Is it because I needed to install other stuff on which this will depend?
I also can give something away for a reduced price. I still have three sloffen of Marlboro light cigarettes with a value of 132 euro. Who wants to pay more than 90 euro for it?
Smoking is bad for you, my friend. But you're welcome to sell it on eBay and buy a computer game for me with the money.
