Hallo binari's We have to compile a wishlist for IT, here my first contribution. - mapping of drives at home - authenticated svn that is accessible outside the building without tricks - I would like to able to mail jar files, both incoming and outgoing. Please feel free to expand this list. Tomorrow Danny gets a new firewall that he can configure as he likes, we need to make sure that he knows how he would like to configure it. So please reply to this e-mail today. regards, Thomas

So .. I'm gonna mail the list? For 'mapping of drives at home' it would be nice if they also understood 'mounting of home-dirs at home (with correct permissions) on linux machines' Another thing to add to the wishlist is: - letting me have sudo rights on psbweb02 (i mean, what cna I do wrong? It's a RH machine partitioned with LVM. You set up a rollback point, install, if fail, rollback. (I haven't tried it before ;)).) -Kenny On Wed, 10 Sep 2008, lieven sterck wrote:

well .. I noticed the backup script crashed on a faulty svn, so it's not foolproof ;) So I changed it that it exits with sending me a mail ;) On Wed, 10 Sep 2008, Michiel Van Bel wrote:

Sure, but you may want to redo the formatting. It's just an idea to make one mail with one list, instead of this collection of random thoughts. Maybe extends the items, so there is less possibility for misunderstandings. Kenny Billiau wrote: > So .. Maybe more of a personal problem: - No extra restrictions on private laptops? - NFS mounts instead of having to force your way over SAMBA/CIFS ?

Did I miss something? - mapping of drives at home. For windows machines and for linux machines. It would be nice to have NFS mounts instead of having to fiddle with SMB/CIFS and messing up our permissions. - authenticated svn that is accessible outside the building without tricks. Now we have to svn -L through midas to get to the svns at psbdev. - we would like to able to mail jar files, both incoming and outgoing. - access to psbdev01 from outside. So we would have a way of testing websites, java webstart, access to the hosted bugTrackers. - No extra restrictions on private laptops? (working scp, ssh-ing to psbdev from within the building without going to midas) Kenny
