If you consider security measures as an obstruction of your work, you might consider to work in another department or company for a short time and to experience the difference in the flexibility and service we offer and the stringent rules implemented elsewhere (ask your colleagues abroad).
Feel free to ask, I'm working abroad ;-)

Is it true the IT is open for support from 7 to 19h .. _every day_ ? ;) How does your Head of IT look like? On Wed, 4 Mar 2009, Thomas Abeel wrote:

Not officially, but since IMAP and SMPT are remotely accesible (aka from home), they usually reply any time you mail them between 7 and 19. The response time may be a bit longer in the weekend, but if they can help you remotely, the guy said they would, although it was no guarantee. It should be said that they have approx. 40 IT people for just the Broad department, so they are not as understaffed as the PSB IT department.
How does your Head of IT look like?
Like any ITer ;-)
