[Ciscode] FW: [Arabuk] Brassica genome sequencing project

Dear All, At the meeting in Rome we were asked about the availability of Brassica sequences. Please check the message from Ian Bancroft below (and the URL). best wishes Robert ------ Forwarded Message From: "ian bancroft (JIC)" <ian.bancroft@bbsrc.ac.uk> Date: Tue, 13 May 2008 12:13:33 +0100 To: "arabuk (Mailman List)" <arabuk@lists.bbsrc.ac.uk>, "uk-brc (Mailman List)" <uk-brc@lists.bbsrc.ac.uk> Conversation: Brassica genome sequencing project Subject: [Arabuk] Brassica genome sequencing project Dear colleagues, I am pleased to be able to inform the UK Brassica and Arabidopsis research communities that the UK-China B. rapa sequencing project has now sequenced and annotated 99 BAC clones, totalling 12.3 Mb. This brings the cumulative amount of complete B. rapa BAC sequence data in the public databases to 75.3 Mb, which represents ca. 20% of the gene space of the B. rapa genome. Automated annotations of the sequences from the UK-China project, along with all others from the multinational B. rapa Genome Sequencing Project that have been submitted to the public databases, are available via the Brassica Genome Gateway site (http://brassica.bbsrc.ac.uk/ <http://brassica.bbsrc.ac.uk/> ). The BAC sequences have been annotated for an expanding set of features including gene predictions, SSR and restriction site identification, and alignments with Arabidopsis gene models, BAC end sequences (to identify overlapping clones) and the EST assemblies used for development of the JIC-JCVI-Cogenics community Brassica microarray. Ian Bancroft, on behalf of the UK-China B. rapa genome sequencing project. _______________________________________________ Arabuk mailing list Arabuk@lists.bbsrc.ac.uk https://www.lists.bbsrc.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/arabuk ------ End of Forwarded Message
