False alarm, the lamp still works it just has some problems igniting (sometimes). If you encounter the problem you just have to restart the lamp. Cheers, Matthias

Dear all, The people from Olympus made a real effort today to get our confocal system back up and running. Both the multi line Argon laser and the 635nm diode laser have been replaced and the cooling of the lasers is enhanced to gain laser lifetime. You can now start using the system again at its full capacity.
