
Dear colleagues, As you may have seen there is a notice next to the laser control panel of the LSM710 to keep the indicator between the first and second stripe (figure attached). The reason for this is that the LED's in the control panel no longer give a correct reading of the current (relates to the usage time of the laser). The maximal current lies now halfway between the first and second line (formerly it was the transition from green LED to red LED). To preserve the lifetime of the laser it is advised to not increase the current beyond this point as the laser becomes unstable and its lifetime is further reduced. Since this is not a very exact indication so try to be conservative when increasing the current. Thank you for your cooperation.
