Dear confocal users,
I really would like to emphasize on the importance of treating the machines as if they would be yours, as if you should pay for the replacements, as if .... it were your babies!!!!
This means, switch them off according to the rules!!! Also, if you cancel a reservation make sure people are informed on time!
I noticed today that the Zeiss Exciter was on, including the Argon laser, unused. According to the system the last session was on 18/12/2018!!!!!
I hope this doesn't mean that this system has been on during this period without being used!
An argon laser has around 5000 live hours and costs around 10000 euro. So, around 500 euro to the bin for leaving the argon laser on!
