Dear microscopy users,
I am sending this mail to all of you as I do not want to miss anyone who is not subscribed to the confocal mailing list.
If you use the confocals frequently, do inscribe to the confocal mailing list (https://intranet.psb.ugent.be/mail-lists) to receive all the mails concerning confocal microscopy within PSB.
The good news is that after 3 months, the piezo stage of the spinning disc is repaired and can be used again.
However, please be aware that this is an extremely delicate piece of equipment.
This means that under no conditions, pressure may be applied to it (not even placing your hand on it while mounting your sample).
Also, take care not to spill any immersion fluid (oil, water) on it. Any liquid which goes in between the two halves of the piezo will destroy it.
Have fun imaging,
d
