Dear all, I would like to remind everyone who uses the confocals to subscribe to the confocal mailing list (you can do this easily via intranet). Otherwise, you might miss future mails concerning the confocals (now I have included research, but this should be avoided to reduce spamming people who this does not concern). The Zeiss710 currently has a sensitivity issue as the amount of laser power required to image is abnormally high (40%). I have contacted Zeiss and will let you know when it will be solved. In the meantime, do take into account that you might need to use more laser power to image and that this will likely cause bleaching of your sample. Also, the epifluorescence light bulb has exceeded its life time and I will replace it. In the future, it would be nice however that when you notice this (old bulb flashing on the controller), to notify me or Evelien.
