[Confocal] Zeiss 710: argon laser almost at his end: tips for being able to use

Dear Zeiss 710 users, The argon laser of the zeiss 710 seems to be (almost) at his end. Sometimes it is still working but not all the time. Tips for the moment are : A new laser is ordered, but I do not know yet when we will get the new laser. If we are lucky, we could get a temporary one that could be installed this week, allowing to be able to use it again somewhere this week. I will keep you updated! I would like to stress the importance of reporting malfunctions as soon as possible . The 'red' light of the argon laser has apparently not been on for a long time, which was already an indication of a dying laser. In some cases, this allows for more preventative action. Dear all, The new argon laser is installed on the Zeiss 710 and can be used again. As installation of the new confocal is still ongoing and sometimes multiple persons are inside, it's better to wait after 17:30.
From then on you can use the Zeiss 710, but with the lights on in the room. If you need the darkness, than wait till installation is finished (not sure how long this will take).
Kind regards, Evelien
