Bruno Guillotin is a recently appointed senior permanent CNRS researcher at the Institute of Plant Sciences Paris-Saclay, France. He completed his PhD in 2016 at the University of Toulouse, where he studied arbuscular symbiosis, before joining Kenneth Birnbaum’s team at New York University for his postdoctoral research. There, he developed several single-cell RNA sequencing approaches in plants, focusing on root development in grasses and the mechanisms underlying plant root regeneration. In this seminar, Bruno will first present key findings from his postdoctoral work on root regeneration, as well as new approaches being developed in his new lab to study cell–cell communication. In the second part of the talk, he will reflect on the major steps of his career leading to his current position, sharing insights and advice on the PI career path
