Diagenode, the leader in the field of epigenetics, provides full solutions for your chromatin immunoprecipitation and DNA methylation research. Our products include sonication instruments (Bioruptor®), automated systems (IP-Star®), kits for chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and DNA methylation analysis, and high quality antibodies. For its Epigenetics division and under the supervision of the Epigenetics R&D Manager, Diagenode is looking for a highly motivated, team-orientated individual Bioinformatics Project Manager. 

Brief posting description: 
* Interact directly with customers and lend scientific expertise toward understanding and assessing customers’ needs, communicating progress, explaining significance of results, and troubleshooting technical issues 
* Generate professional technical reports for delivery to customers in a timely manner to meet sales delivery schedules 
* Contribute expertise toward development of value-added improvements to existing analysis pipelines and technical reports based on emerging industry technologies and customer feedback 
* Work in a team of bioinformaticians with complementary skills on ongoing biological projects utilizing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) focused on epigenetic analyses 
* Develop bioinformatics projects in line with the diverse needs of the department 

Job description: 
* Oversees bioinformatics work for ChIP-seq and methylation studies (e.g. ChIP-seq, RRBS, MeDIP-seq, hMeDIP-seq) projects in the R&D Epigenetics department of Diagenode 
* Coordinate project timelines and progression for ~15 projects at any given time 
* Manages contact with external customers 
* Becomes the key contact person for bioinformatics-related projects with academic and industrial partners 
* Coordinates contact with customers related to bioinformatics projects 
* Work with Diagenode developers to design and enhance the epigenetic bioinformatics software lab’s pipeline to meet customer’s requirements 

Required qualifications: 
* Master degree in Bioinformatics preferred 
* Minimum 3 years of experience in working with NGS data analysis, ideally in applications related to Epigenetics (ChIp and Methylation), and with a strong knowledge of the related biological studies 
* Proven experience in project management 
* Experience with coding through R, SHELL, Python and Perl languages under Linux environment 
* Experience with statistical and database software 
* Fluent in English, French or other languages are a plus 
* Strong organizational and time management skills, well-organized, independent 
* Rigour and attention to details 
* Excellent interpersonal skills 
* Excellent oral and written communication skills 

Eligibility criteria: 
All nationalities, including Belgian, the condition is to have spent less than 12 months over the last three years in Belgium. 

Location: 
Diagenode headquarters in Liège 

Contract: 
Fixed-term contract (36 months) - Possible extension in permanent contract
