My "AI for Genome Interpretation" (https://www.igmm.cnrs.fr/en/team/ai-for-genome-interpretation/) group in Montpellier (France) is looking for *a post doctoral researcher* with experience in bioinformatics (working with genomics data) and *machine learning *(n*eural networks*, fluent with pytorch). The project focuses heavily on IA, and in particular on using *DNA LLMs on sequencing data*. It is a 12 months position at CNRS, ~2500€ net salary. If the project passes the subsequent evaluation stages, it can be renewed for up to 36 additional months. Dear all, We have the possibility to recruit technical support for the maintenance and improvement of the resources ORVAL and OLIDA. Both resources require regular updates in terms of the underlying annotation databases, tools and can benefit from further developments to improve user experience. The position is supported by an FWO infrastructure project awarded to the Belgian ELIXIR node, the European network sharing data and tools for biological and biomedical research and development. As technical support staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the variant annotation database and its server, including data update procedures and managing different instances in different environments; you will develop new functionalities and improve the design and stability of the web platform as well as take charge of its maintenance; and you will facilitate the technology transfer from research to services with the implementation of good practices and technical documentations. The position would be in the context of the Interuniversity Institute of Bioinformatics in Brussels (http://www.ibsquare.be) under the supervision of Professor Tom Lenaerts. Dear all, If you’re working with spatial data (or planning to), a quick heads-up on a few upcoming VIB activities that might be interesting to attend: Targeted spatial transcriptomics analysis (11–12 March, Ghent)<https://training.vib.be/all-trainings/targeted-spatial-transcriptomics-anal…> Two hands-on days focused on actually working with targeted spatial transcriptomics data (e.g. Xenium). You’ll go from raw data into the SPArrOW/Harpy pipeline (from the Saeys lab), covering segmentation, clustering and spatial visualisation — very much aimed at understanding what’s going on under the hood, not just clicking buttons. Registration open until 2 March. Spatial proteomics analysis (13 March, Ghent)<https://training.vib.be/all-trainings/spatial-proteomics-analysis> A one-day follow-up that shifts the focus from RNA to proteins. Same Harpy framework, but now applied to multiplex imaging data: segmentation, marker quantification and cell type annotation, with plenty of discussion on how to judge data quality and biological relevance.
